UNC Asheville is making good use of its scanning electron microscope or SEM, from analyzing silver nanowires to aiding in the research of the university's thriving Environmental Studies program. Although SEMs are not necessarily rare in our zone, they are widely used for imaging in many physics fortes and, for monentary reasons, can be difficult to find if your school does not have one on campus. UNCA is making it available to inquiring students from other universities who may need images for research of their own.
Availability: By appointment only. Must be supervised.
