Wren Gregory, Site Creator & Editor
Wren is a recent UNC Asheville physics graduate. An experimentalist to the core, she has enjoyed undergraduate research in astrophysics (radio interferometry), optics (building carbon dioxide lasers), and nanotechnology (growing graphene using laser ablation). Wren is preparing to begin a doctoral program in condensed matter physics at Clemson University. She currently works at Clemson's Duke Innovation Center for the Advanced Materials Research Laboratory in Anderson, SC on emerging nanomaterials and their applications. Wren created Expanding Opportunity to promote contemporary research for physics undergraduates in her region. Research arguably encompasses the most important tools for a physics major, and she hopes this site will encourage students to actively pursue their research interests now.
Dylan Cromer, Associate Editor
Dylan is a junior physics major at UNC Asheville. Interested in physics since he was 12 years old, Dylan wants to pursue research in theoretical particle physics and cosmology. He has enjoyed working with astrophysics research on fast radio bursts, and solid-state physics research on silver nanowires as an undergraduate. On the path to becoming a theorist, Dylan wants to build resources on Expanding Opportunity to make theoretical physics more accessible to beginning students. He is the author of the light-hearted and insightful, "So, You Want To Be A Theorist?" series.
Natalie Kamitsuka, Associate Editor
Natalie is a senior physics major at UNC Asheville. She has participated in many research projects at UNCA, including topics such as nanotechnology and astrophysics.
