The Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI) is located in the mountains of Western North Carolina near the town of Cashiers. It is a non-profit organization that focuses on outreach, education, and research. PARI has many excellent research tools including, but not limited to,

  • Radio telescopes

  • Optical telesopes for visual observation

  • Dedicated Interferometer for Rapid Variability (DIRV)

Tours of the ground are given daily where students can visit the many telescopes, the control room, and PARI's impressive collection of NASA historical materials and meteorites.
